Fidya uses the confirmed number of days × the cost of feeding one person. Eligibility depends in part on whether missed fasts can be made up.
Kaffarah mode only estimates the cost of feeding 60 people per confirmed expiation. The number of expiations is not automatically inferred from missed days.
Kaffarah is not an unrestricted choice between fasting and money. Ask a scholar to confirm the obligation, number of expiations and payment rules.
